Shot on Polaroid type 55 with a 4x5 camera. The Sabattier effect was accomplished by using a shortened processing time, then opening the positive/negative sandwich in the dark and blasting the negative with with a flashgun. A semi-reversal of the image occurs producing what you see above.

The results are always different and seldom repeatable (at least for me) so when it works it's pretty cool.

I can't believe you haven't received any favorites or comments on this piece. It is amazing! The process you used alone is worth some praise. I haven't seen this type of 3D effect with a polaroid before.

I am a big fan of 4x5 polaroids, especially type 55, so this was a great find for me.

I would really like to try this format, but type 55 is quite expensive unless you buy it outdated.

In any case, great job on this picture!
